A useful bridge between big band jazz and the oncoming onslaught of rock and roll. There’s a very raw energy to this album even though it’s a compilation. The covers here are great: Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Cryin' and Is You or Is You Ain’t? Jazz meets rock and roll is a great genre.
