And so the tattoo recovery begins; and so the walking continues. With more ink sessions booked in over the coming weeks, I’ve got around a couple of months without any overtly strenuous physical activity. Live to walk, walk to live, etc.
I strolled out relatively early on Sunday morning for a 10 km Estuary Wilds walk. I had the sun and the wind. It was rather pleasant.
The early dog walkers were also out along by the estuary. I have long since thought that dog owners resemble their dogs. This is no personal insult, it’s just an observation about personality and vague appearance of the dogs I see around these parts.
Elsewhere the bunting and preparations are starting to appear ahead of next weekend’s regatta. It’s all a bit bonkers, tbh. Not a lot changes each year but if the weather holds then it can be a bit of a mad one.
My plan is to help set up the rowing club stall early doors, do a little bit of regatta mooching and then bugger off before it all goes batshit crazy.
This morning along the estuary there was high water. Members of the sailing club were in preparation mode ahead of a morning of racing.
The heat wave over the past few days has left an impact on the estuary mud. What is usually thick, sloppy, and rich in texture is now quite solid, with cracks starting to appear.
I got my head down and did my hit-and-miss photography, the way I like it. Stop, frame, snap, move on. Then repeat it.
A little further along down by the estuary, the overnight rain had led to a slightly sodden surface.
I reached Alresford Creek and then headed around the back roads down towards the town once again.
I was back at base just as the bloody church bells were firing up. I closed all doors and windows and put on the noise-cancelling headphones.
